The beginnings of packing date back to 1983, where a simple process line was built to satisfy the need to pack the fruit of the Sociedad Agrícola Vista Hermosa Ltda, near the orchards, with the purpose of improving post-harvest. especially pears. From the beginning, it was thought that this packing, unlike many others, could operate all year round, thus giving its workers stability and continuity. This continuity was initially achieved with the fruit that Vista Hermosa produced throughout the year, but this has varied over time as we incorporate third-party services into our offer.
In 2011 and 2012, a series of structural changes were made in the packing, in order to meet the continuity objective that was had from the beginning, which required remodeling from the calibrator to the cold rooms.
Then over the next few years have been updated all process lines, leading to today the plant has 4 calibrators last generation, which allows processing to us from 18 bins hours (nectarine and pears) up to 45 bins hour (avocados and citrus), we have more than 14,975 m3 of cold rooms, including 450 m3 of controlled atmosphere cold room, SAG inspection service and direct dispatch to the port.
With the restructuring carried out, in the last two years we have been able to process all types of fruit, giving continuity to our work team throughout the year.
In 2016, an important milestone was reached for our company and the first line of export cherries processes in the province of Melipilla was inaugurated, having the capacity to process one million kilos per season.
In 2021, another change was made, now it was from our main process line, giving greater efficiency to the process and improving the quality of the packaged product. The new calibrator, from the Italian brand Ser.Mac, has the ability to separate the fruit by weight, volume and color, in addition to having a powerful electronic defect selector capable of separating into two qualities or more, depending on the requirements of our clients.
The services offered range from unloading the fruit from the truck, until it is loaded into the container to be dispatched to the port, complying during this process with all the standards required by exporters and receivers abroad, permanently taking care of the quality and safety of the fruit.
In the packing we have for the reception with Hydrocooler, Drench and Tunnels of pre-cold of bins; Cold rooms for fruit waiting to be processed, with a capacity of 1,600 bins. Then, the packaging line is flexible, which allows different types of species and processes to be processed (dry or wet), always complying with the demands of our customers. Finally, we have the port dispatch area, with its respective chambers where 800 finished pallets can be stored. Temporary cold and dispatch services are also offered if required.
